At least 1 hurt in 6-car crash

  - State Police are investigating a six-car collision on Interstate 684 that resulted in serious injuries to at least one person.
The accident occurred about 3:53 p.m., police said, and the female operator believed to have precipitated the crash is facing drunken driving charges.
Police said the woman was driving north in the left lane of the highway, struck the median, went airborne and hit four cars in the southbound lane before coming to rest on top of the sixth vehicle.
The names of the operator and others involved in the accident were not immediately available. None were Connecticut residents, police said.
